2012 Summer Employment The Corporation of the Town of LaSalle Department of Culture and Recreation The Department of Culture and Recreation will accept applications for summer employment for the following positions: Outside Labour Positions Minimum 16 years of age by April 2012 must have and maintain as a condition of employment:

Copies of certifications MUST accompany application. Preference will be given to those with previous experience. Applicants interested in the Summer Program Leader positions can obtain an application here (pdf) or in person at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. Applications may be dropped off at the Vollmer Centre located at 2121 Laurier Drive. Closing date for above positions will be Friday, March 9 at 4:30 p.m. Lifeguard/Instructor Hiring Tryouts Applicants must have and maintain as a condition of employment:
Copies of certifications MUST accompany application, which should be brought to the tryouts. Applications will NOT be accepted in advance. Interviews/aquatics screening sessions will be held at the Vollmer Centre on the following dates: Applicants MUST attend one session to be considered for employment. Applicants will be required to demonstrate lifeguarding and instructor skills in the pool. Preference will be given to those with previous aquatic experience. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Spots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please call 519-969-7771 ext. 101 to register. Personal information is collected under the Authority of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 2001 and will be used to determine eligibility for employment. To qualify as a secondary school student, you must be currently registered in a high school program on a fulltime basis or be entering a post secondary university or community college in the fall of 2012. A letter from the Registrar’s Office for post secondary students; secondary students a letter from the Guidance Department and/or Principal’s Office indicating full-time status from September 2012 through April 2013/June 2013 may be requested at the time of hire. Failure to comply will mean disqualification.
