Description: A By-Law to amend By-Law No. 4667, which restricts the setting of fires within the Town of LaSalle.

Date Passed: October 12, 1983

WHEREAS By-Law No. 4667, a by-law passed by the Council of the Township of Sandwich West, January 8th, 1991, was passed with the intention of restricting the setting of fires within the Township of Sandwich West later incorporated and now known as the Town of LaSalle;

AND WHEREAS there were no specific exemption for what is described as a “open air cooking fire”, more commonly referred to as a barbecue;

AND WHEREAS it is the intent to allow these types of fires, that are small, personal to the household, and specific in their intent.

NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LASALLE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1.	That clause 2.6.3.4 of The Fire Code, be included as a restriction within the Town of LaSalle, which specifically states “open air burning shall not be permitted unless such burning consists of a small confined fire, supervised at all times, and used to cook food on a grill or a barbecue”.
2.	This By-Law shall come into force and take effect upon the final passing thereof.

READ a first and second time and finally passed this 12th day of October, 1993.
