Description:  A By-law to amend By-Law No. 3964 being a By-law to provide for the registration of dogs in the Township and the collection of a license fee from the owners thereof, and to fix a date for the securing of dog tags and to prohibit dogs from running at large.

Date Passed:  February 12, 2002

WHEREAS By-Law No. 3964, being a By-law to provide for the registration of dogs in the Township and the collection of a license fee from the owners thereof, and to fix a date for the securing of dog tags and to prohibit dogs from running at large, was duly passed on the 25th day of May, 1982;

AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend said By-Law No. 3964.

NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF LASALLE HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1.

That By-Law No. 3964, being a By-law to provide for the registration of dogs in the Township and the collection of a license fee from the owners thereof, and to fix a date for the securing of dog tags and to prohibit dogs from running at large, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
 

(i)

that paragraph 2(1) be deleted and replaced with the following:

 

  

"2(1) Every owner of a dog shall register same and procure a dog tag on or before the 28th day of March in each year in the manner set forth hereunder."
 

(ii)

by deleting therefrom the attached Schedule 1 and replacing same with the Schedule 1 attached hereto and forming part of this amending by-law.
 

2.

 By-Law No. 4175 finally passed on the 17th day of June, 1986 is hereby repealed.
 

3.

 This By-law shall come into full force and take effect on the final passing thereof.
 

Read a first and second time, and FINALLY PASSED this 12th day of February, 2002.
