Notice of Public Meeting Open House: RE: Prohibit/Regulate the Placing or Dumping of Fill TAKE NOTICE that the Council for the Corporation of the Town of LaSalle invites public input on a proposed By-law, pursuant to Section 142 of the Municipal Act which authorizes a municipality to prohibit or regulate the placing or dumping of fill, the alteration of grades and the removal of topsoil from the municipality, at its regular public meeting to be held in the Council Chambers located at 5950 Malden Road on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 7:00 pm or as soon thereafter as Council determines. A draft by-law will be made available here for review, or at the office of the Clerk located at 5950 Malden Road during regular working hours. If you wish to make written submissions regarding the passing of this by-law, those submissions must be submitted to the office of the Clerk no later than September 2nd, 2009 at the address noted below. At this meeting, Council will also hear any person who wishes to make oral submissions regarding the proposed by-law. Brenda Andreatta
Open House, RE: Parking/Storage of Recreational and Commercial Vehicles Wednesday August 26th 7:00 – 9:00 pm Council
Chamber, Town Hall The Town’s Zoning By-law presently prohibits
the parking and storage of recreational vehicles, boats and trailers
in front driveways in residential zones. The parking of
commercial vehicles in residential zones is also prohibited with the
exception of small, light duty vans and pick-up trucks having a
maximum carrying capacity of ¾ metric tonnes. Town Council is
interested in hearing opinions from residents on whether these
prohibitions are an acceptable community standard. Anyone
wishing to submit written comments may forward them to: All public input will be considered by an Ad-Hoc Committee with recommendations to Town Council by the end of October 2009. Ad-Hoc Committee to Review Parking of Recreational and Commercial Vehicles in Residential Areas Town Council has approved the formation of an Ad-Hoc Committee to Review Parking of Recreational and Commercial Vehicles in Residential Areas. The Ad-Hoc Committee is composed of Council representatives on the By-law Review and Enforcement Committee and three (3) citizen representatives. Persons interested in serving on the Ad-Hoc Committee are invited to submit a letter outlining their interest in the matter for consideration for appointment. Resumes are also welcome. There is no remuneration for membership. The Committee is expected to meet between August and October with meeting dates and times to be determined. Letters of interest will be accepted until August 26th by the Clerk, Town of LaSalle, 5950 Malden Road, LaSalle, ON N9H 1S4 or by e-mail at dcoyle@town.lasalle.on.ca
