Council Services
Brenda Andreatta, the Clerk for the Town of LaSalle, provides the statutory duties of the municipal clerk under the Ontario Municipal Act, which involves recording all resolutions, decisions and other proceedings of Council, processing formal applications to Council, and maintaining the official records. As well, the Clerk's Office processes information presented to Council in the form of By-laws, Resolutions, Agendas, and Minutes. This department maintains the status of agreements and by-laws and provides legal coordination of municipal activities with the Town Solicitor. The Clerk's Office serves as an information record centre for Council, interdepartmental staff, and the public. Requests for information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act are received and processed. The Department also issues licenses for taxi cab drivers, lotteries, and other general purpose and is responsible for the compliance and enforcement of By-laws including Property Standards, Sign By-law.
The Department also conducts municipal elections every four years pursuant to the Municipal Elections Act. By-law Enforcement Inquiries and Complaints
