Lead Testing of Private Residential Water Services

Under Ontario Regulation 170/03, Schedule 15.1, all large municipal residential water systems such as the Town of LaSalle must have 60 private residences and 6 commercial non-residential properties tested for lead in the water.

The Town is now proceeding with the second round of Lead Testing under Reg. 170/03. This testing will be conducted between June 15/08 to October 15/08.

Volunteers Needed

This testing in homes will take place at a point where water is used for human consumption (for example: kitchen tap) and will take approximately 35 minutes. The Town of LaSalle is seeking volunteers for this testing in homes where lead soldered copper pipes (prior to 1993) or lead water services were used (prior to 1950).

Anyone willing to take part in this testing program is asked to call the Town of LaSalle Environmental Services Department at 519-969-4143 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment for same.

The Town of LaSalle Water Department reserves the right to randomly select volunteers as deemed appropriate for the study.
